Inclusion Policies
We are committed to creating a diverse environment in which we can all grow, feel safe, and connect with others.
We recognize that diversity of backgrounds, races, cultures, ethnicities, religious beliefs, ideas, abilities, and sexual orientations challenges us and builds strength, confidence, and loving acceptance that can be transferred to the world at large.
We also believe that inclusion is a value best learned in childhood and it is our responsibility to provide a supportive environment in which that learning can occur.

Inclusion Statement

Project Foxwood and Camp Carvela are for children of any race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability (assuming the disability permits safe participation in programming), national or ethnic origin.
Project Foxwood and Camp Carvela do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, disability, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its camp-administered programs, educational policies, admission policies, or scholarship programs; nor does it discriminate against transgender and gender nonconforming campers and staff.

Gender Policy

At Project Foxwood & Camp Carvela, we are dedicated to creating a place of comfort where campers can feel supported and connect with others. This applies to everyone who comes to camp, and we are always updating policies with this in mind.

By registering your camper for a program through Project Foxwood & Camp Carvela you understand that your camper may be placed in a cabin with non-conforming or gender non-binary campers and/or staff in their cabin. We consider ourselves an ally organization and our programs are inclusive of the whole gender spectrum and strive to be safe and welcoming spaces for all.
